My Everyday Make-Up

Hi everyone! I want to show you which make-up products I apply on a daily basis – it’s really simple and quick.

I start off by moisturizing my clean (!) face with one pump of Neutrogena oil-free moisture for sensitive skin (not pictured). It’s very important to hydrate your face, especially during these colder, winter months. I understand that you might be weary of it when you have oily skin but a lack of hydration can actually make your skin worse. I don’t use a face primer on a daily basis because it tends to break me out. And I know I should be applying a sunscreen but I want to show you my true everyday make-up and not what it should be.

Now that I have prepped my face, it’s time to apply make-up. Here are the products I use every day:

PicCollage

FACE (top picture)

The first face product I use is my Benefit Erase Paste. I use this as an under-eye concealer and I have the color 2 medium. This concealer also comes in fair and deep but make sure you check out the shades in a store. The medium shade is salmon-toned which perfectly counteracts dark, blue circles. It has a creamy consistency and I have not found it to crease easily; I do use powder over top of it though. I scoop the product out with a cotton swab and then pat it on with my finger.
Foundation has disappeared from my everyday make-up routine a couple of months ago. In its place came this Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector. I use the one for combination to oily skin in the shade light/clair. I love this product because I mainly struggle with an uneven skin tone and one layer of this BB cream gets rid of that. You can let it set and apply another layer if you want more coverage. I apply this product in a patting motion with a flat kabuki brush by Sigma (F80).
On rare occasions when I need more coverage, I will grab the M.A.C. Pro Longwear concealer in NW20 and apply it with a M.A.C. foundation brush (190). Luckily, I didn’t need it today :-)
To keep my face matte, I bring out the e.l.f. Clarifying Pressed Powder in Ivory. I use a kabuki brush by the brand HEMA.

To put some color on my cheeks, I use The Body Shop Shimmer Waves in the shade Blush. I swirl my M.A.C. large powder brush (150) in the 4 pink shades. Then I use my finger to swipe the lightest shade (the one all the way to the left) to apply on my cheekbones, the inner corner of my eye and my Cupid’s bow to highlight.

EYES (bottom picture)

For my everyday eye-look, I like to keep it really simple. I don’t use an eyeshadow primer – people rave about it all the time but to be honest, I can’t really be bothered to use it. I apply M.A.C. Paint Pot in Painterly all over the lid with a M.A.C. shader brush (242). I top that with a M.A.C. eye shadow in All That Glitters (same brush). Under my eyebrow, I use the lightest color (New Nude) out of The Body Shop eye palette in Boho Beauty. I often use the darkest color (Haute Chocolate) in my crease (not today though: too lazy -oops-). The brush I use for the highlight and crease color is a M.A.C. tapered blending brush (224). My mascara of choice is Maybelline’s One by One Volum’ Express in Brownish Black; I only apply it on my top lashes. No eyeliner, no fake lashes, … I’m a no non-sense type of girl most days.

LIPS

Pucker up! I usually just to stick to lip balm, especially when it’s freezing outside. My favorite one is the Yves Rocher moisturizing lip balm with grape extract (Hydra).

Since I forgot to take a picture this morning, this is my everyday make-up after a day in the cold:

A little wear and tear but overall it held up quite well. I did not powder during the day so you can see some redness starting to show through. I only reapplied my lip balm for some much needed moisture…brrrr, the cold is at war with lips all over the country! I hope you enjoyed this post and feel free to share in the comments below what you use in your everyday make-up routine.
